Earlier this month, the IFTI team had the pleasure of connecting with spray foam professionals from across Canada at the NAFA Spray Foam Trade Show, held July 18–19, 2025 in Calgary, Alberta. As the first Canadian expo of its kind in over a decade, NAFA 2025 delivered on its promise of “a weekend filled with knowledge-sharing, hands-on competitions, and industry networking.”
Hosted by the North American Foam Alliance (NAFA), this annual event brings together spray polyurethane foam (SPF) contractors, fireproofing applicators, manufacturers, and suppliers to raise the bar for insulation and fire safety. NAFA continues to be a central hub for advancing building standards through education, product demos, and innovation showcases.
IFTI Featured: Code-Compliant Fire Protection with DC315
At the conference, IFTI was proud to highlight DC315, our flagship intumescent coating for spray foam. This product provides a 15-minute thermal barrier over SPF, forming a protective char layer under fire to delay ignition and give occupants more time to evacuate.
Visitors learned how intumescent coatings like DC315 offer a code-approved alternative to extra layers of gypsum board, protecting both structural steel and foam insulation. In addition, DC315 has been ICC-ES Listed for 1-hour fire resistance in wall assemblies; an important milestone in passive fire protection.
As discussed during the show, building codes require foam insulation to meet specific flame spread ratings and be protected by a thermal barrier. DC315 meets these standards while streamlining installation and preserving architectural flexibility.
